How Many Republicans Knew? (8:01 am)
Josh Marshall has several posts up on the fast evolving GOP Sexploitationgate scandal.
Josh highlighted this story in Roll Call:
Chairman of the House Page Board, Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) interviewed Foley last year about some of the contacts with the page. The House clerk, who is also a member of the Board, was also present. Speaker Hastert’s office was informed of the interview, but according to GOP leadership sources who spoke to Roll Call, Hastert himself was not informed. Then Josh reported that Majority Leader Boehner - who admits being informed - developed a case of Contradictus Backpedallus about Speaker Haster’s knowledge of events.
Rep. Dale Kildee (D-MI), the only Democrat on the Board, was not informed of the interview, according to Roll Call.
Justin Rood at TPM Muckraker passes along this AP story:
Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-La., who sponsored the page from his district, told reporters that he learned of the e-mails from a reporter some months ago and passed on the information to Rep. Thomas Reynolds, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Republican campaign organization [the National Republican Congressional Committee].So the only Democrat in a position to exercise proper oversight is kept in the dark by the Republican committee chair, but the Republican campaign operation gets to know about the story from the very start.

One good way for Foley to keep his job, be admired by his peers, and be the subject of page 8 sympathy and praise instead of page 1 scorn:
Switch to the Democratic party!!
Those log cabins can be drafty, anyways.

Clearly Natalie thinks Monica Lewinsky must’ve been an underage crossdresser and Clinton had informed every ranking Democrat about it months before the scandal broke instead of lying about his shameful dalliance with an adult woman to everybody. Skip the evidence to the contrary. Evidence is horrible and must be obscured, then we can all pretend that only Democrats are subject to the whims of their weenies if we want. We could pretend that only Republicans are racists, then, too, huh? If we accept evidence, we might have to swallow that all human beings are capable of pathetic behaviors and each and every one ought to be held accountable.
How would the Ann Coulters of the world make a dishonest living with a correct perspective, though?

No, clearly Natalie KNOWS that there is a double standard routinely employed by the Democratic voting media when things such as this arise. The media (Newsweek) was going to sit on the Lewinski story until someone leaked it to Matt Drudge. This episode of someone writing dirty notes will be front page headlines and get top marquee billing in nearly every venue.
Then, Clinton, like most every other Democrat caught doing untoward things, refused to resign, and denied the whole thing.
The great contrast is that Foley resigned promptly and nobody in the Republican party is defending him, or urging him to stay.
As far as race, the Democratic party, who has historically been the home of cross burners and segregationists, sees no harm in having the likes of James Byrd as their leader. The Republicans shuddered and cringed, and refused to be associated with David Duke when he tried to run as a Republican. Now he is great friends with Cindy Sheehan.
I don’t write to defend Foley, far from it, simply to highlight once again the breathtaking unfairness of a political party having 90% of the nation’s media at their beck and call.

So the christian republican party of morality & values have been caught red handed covering up for a pervert? Why am I not surprised!
The pervert in question - is a powerful 52 year old man who enjoys comparing masturbation techniques with a 16 year old. God only knows the awful events YET to be revealed.
I don’t know who is more evil...the sick bastard who gets off on this...or the hypocritical powermongers who cover for him...or the clueless idiots who voted them into office.
