The use of torture by the US Government is proof that we are living in a Police State. Torture is used only by police states, because the torturers know what they are doing is approved at the very top of the bureaucracy. In fact, we are living in a Two Party Police State. The mass media is the propaganda arm of Corporate America. The US Congress is a Parliament of Corporate Whores. They don’t even read the bills they are voting on. Most Americans don’t give a damn about the loss of their civil liberties, or what’s really going on in Iraq and Afganistan. It’s sick and depraved, but the masses have their heads up their asses. Just ask your relatives, they really don’t care about the state of the nation, and they don’t really want to know. Ask people around you, like at work. Ask friends about this subject. At best, they will feel uncomfortable discussing this subject. Especially when you tell them about the contents of Patriot Acts 1 and 2. The Military Commissions Act. Etc. They are the vast majority. I wish I could see something positive in our future, but I don’t. The concentration of wealth and power in the hands of fewer and fewer is not going away. This did not have to be, but is.
