Hagee, nowhere to be seen (9:30 am)

It’s far from a perfect comparison, but the coverage Rev. Wright has received from the national media as compared to John McCain’s active courting of Rev. John Hagee is pretty astonishing. Steve Clemons did the dirty work:

Using Nexis and Google News, I went ahead and did another search this morning. How many of the nation’s largest daily newspapers ran stand-alone articles about McCain’s outreach to a bigoted and nutty televangelist?

Here’s the list:

Washington Post — Zero

New York Times — Zero

Los Angeles Times — Zero

Boston Globe — Zero

Chicago Tribune — Zero

USA Today — Zero

Wall Street Journal — Zero

I know.  It’s because reporters and editors at all the major newspapers are mostly all Republicans.

They always portray Republicans and their supporters in the best possible light, and Democrats and theirs in the worst.

I kid, of course.  Perhaps the reason is simply that right-wing preachers who talk about end times are just not news nor interesting.

The self-proclaimed uniter Obama having a 20-year left-wing pastor who is anything but a uniter IS news and IS rather interesting.

Sure the white crazies blamed the gays for 911. How many used words similar to “God Damn America”? It might be fun to do a google search on that. . .
