Sarah who? (8:48 am)
By choosing Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, McCain is placing a pretty transparent bet to win over shell-shocked Hillary supporters. But the central logic of the choice (female veep=female voters) is, I hope, too cynical to gain wayward Dems and independent women. Have identity politics gained such currency that longtime Hillary-ites will support a pro-life Republican totally unknown on the national stage simply because of her gender?
This election has become even more interesting - with an historic result either way. But let’s hope it’s about more than electing the first black president or female vice-president.

Sorry L.Jerome, but Sarah has more time as leader of a Military force. More as a Leader of a municipality. More knowledge and time in grade as in Energy transportation and last deciding if a child born has a right to life is not “over her pay grade” and she isn’t even paid as much as Obama. I will grant that Obama has voted “present” more times than Sarah Palin.

How about McCain and the GOP continuously spouting about Obama’s lack of experience, his youth, as a negative? The choice McCain made in this campaign - the one person that may take office if he dies - has less experience and is younger than Obama; the man they say is not experienced enough. The lack of logic continues to astound.
