Pallin’ around with Palin (12:18 pm)

Today’s must read article comes via Max Blumenthal and David Neiwert, as published on Salon.com. It delves into Palin’s connection with the pro-secessionist Alaskan Independence Party, particularly former party chairman Mark Chryson. It seems as though Chryson has a soft spot for the Confederacy:

“Should the Confederate states have been allowed to separate and go their peaceful ways?” Chryson asked rhetorically. “Yes. The War of Northern Aggression, or the Civil War, or the War Between the States — however you want to refer to it — was not about slavery, it was about states’ rights.”

Although Palin herself was never a member of the party, at the end of the week where Palin spent more time fanning the flames of a Bill Ayers controversy than addressing the economy, this article is a welcomed investigation to her connections. Read the entire article here.
